Stichting Erfgoed Den Helder is voortgekomen uit stichting Stelling Den Helder en Willemsoord BV. De erfgoedorganisatie beheert het militaire en maritieme erfgoed van Den Helder, en wil trekpleisters als forten en musea onder de aandacht van buitenlandse toeristen, recreanten en bezoekers brengen. DST experience agency heeft hiervoor een marketing/activatieplan opgesteld met een strategische richting, heldere en praktische adviezen en eerste ideeën om het erfgoed in Den Helder een aantrekkelijke bestemming te maken.   


1627 through my eyes

The 1627 Battle for Grolle was a turning point in the 80-Years War. Presently, the town of Groenlo uses it to profile itself as a tourist destination. The battle is reenacted every year – the biggest reenactment gathering in Europe, drawing tens of thousands of visitors. How do you go about making the Battle for Grolle even more attractive to visitors within the existing activities? And how do you accomplish that in both the digital and physical world? For the community of Oost Gelre, DST took care of the concept, design, illustrations and realization of hybrid experience route 1627 through my eyes – tales from the city.

Compelling stories

Life-size steel statues mark the landscape in and around Groenlo. There’s eight of them. You can visit all of them, or just one or two. Each statue has a QR-code that will take you to an app full of compelling stories on 1627. Stories that allow visitors to make choices for the fictive main characters of those stories, from peasant’s son to Italian mercenary.

Easy access

All those stories are based in a progressive web-app, a website behaving like an app. This lowers the threshold for users – an internet connection on a mobile device suffices. Curious what it looks like? You’ll find the app at (in Dutch only).

Produced locally

To make this special project happen, we partnered up with many local businesses. Steel specialist Eeftink Rensing cut and placed the eight steel statues. Niice Digital Marketing produced the app. Together with Achterhoek Toerisme we sought and found connections with other local tourism initiatives.


1627 through my eyes – tales from the city. is a welcome addition to the tourism in the Groenlo region. Its concept allows for future addition of other locations in Groenlo and the Achterhoek region, or even national and international destinations related to the 80-Years War. For visitors to Groenlo it is the only app to experience the Battle of Grolle on your personal mobile device. The first reactions after its launch are promising.

This journey begins online, in My Homestudios. As a prospective home buyer you’ll get an online preview. As soon as you have found the home of your choice – congratulations! – you’ll have access to a personalised online account. This is an easy and accessible overview of all options and relevant information. 24/7, regardless of your location.

Personal home coach

Time has come for your visit to Homestudios, by invitation. This is where you’ll go through five studios, guided by your personal home coach, working on your new home in an interactive five-step programme. Explore your options, from extension to kitchen units, and from lighting to furniture. You’ll be amazed at what options are eligible for finance, too, thanks to some smart solutions.

Five steps

Homestudios offers five studios for its visitors, that take them through their personalised home journey.

1. Personal creation studio. Welcome at Homestudios! And excuse us for barraging you with questions, in order to make your journey as personal as possible. This studio is also where you’ll return after completing the Knowledge Studio, Inspiration Studio and the Cooking Studio, to ‘build’ your new home.

2. Knowledge studio. This is where you’ll get insight into the laws of interior, exterior and decorating. You’ll discover what to look for, how to look, and how to make even better choices for the build, finish and decoration of your home. This is also where you’ll find a basic home shell detailing all structural options.

3. Inspiration studio. Eleven life-sized fully decorated houses highlight BAM’s eleven home styles. A rich source of inspiration when it comes to choosing lighting and decoration.

4. Cooking studio. Under the watchful eye of a chef you’ll discover what choice of kitchen suits your needs. We’ll also cook you lunch as a bonus.

5. 3D-studio. This is where you’re shown the results of your visit to Homestudios. We’ll visualise all of your choices on structure, finish and decoration. It’s like you’re already walking around in your new home!

Personal and high-tech

Homestudios builds on a combination of its personal home coaches and high-tech visualisation means. You’re able to store any choice, information or note on a tablet you’ll receive when arriving at Homestudios. This enables you to review all information afterwards from the comfort of your own home.


The opening of Homestudios marks a leap forward in customer service.
